Giant Food Designates USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore as Beneficiary of Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle

Returning for its third year as the title sponsor of the annual Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle, Giant Food is proud to announce that this year's event will once again support the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro). Giant Food will be raising donation funds in-store starting Memorial Day, May 28, in addition to donating proceeds from the Barbecue Battle, one of D.C.'s largest food festivals, welcoming over 100,000 fans annually and taking place on Saturday, June 23 rd and Sunday, June 24 th.

The Washington Ballet (TWB) will celebrate its presentation of Septime Webre's The Nutcracker at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, DC, December 4 through December 28. Wolf Trap Foundation Partners with Boeing, USO-Metro to Honor Military Personnel

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is pleased to join with The Boeing Company and USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro) to donate 100 tickets to military personnel and their families for the summer 2014 production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The musical event will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 2 pm at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. The fully-staged musical of the beloved Disney film is brought to life, complete with the Academy Award-winning score that includes favorite songs such as 'Be Our Guest,' 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Gaston.' The Tony Award-winning costumes and spectacular special effects add to the classic story to create an unforgettable show for the whole family to enjoy.

Wolf Trap Foundation to Honors Military Personnel & Families, 9/6

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is pleased to join with Boeing and USO-Metro to donate 100 complimentary tickets to military personnel and their families throughout the 2013 summer season. A total of 50 tickets will be donated for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The screening will take place on Friday, September 6 at 7:30 pm at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. The performance features the film shown on huge screens in-house and on the lawn, accompanied by a live orchestra, The City Choir of Washington, and the World Children's Choir.

Kearns Headlines New Zealand Embassy Reception for USO & Vietnam VMF, 10/20

The Embassy of New Zealand and the ONE Campaign will host 'A Special Tribute to U.S. Military Members, Their Families and Their Legacies,' Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 6-8pm. Featuring a special performance by world-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns, the invitation-only ticketed Embassy gala will benefit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) and the USO of Metropolitan Washington.
