Bushwick Film Festival Celebrated 11th Anniversary
The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) celebrated its 11th anniversary last month, with nearly 100 films, a dozen panels and events, and over 3,500 attendees! Follow this link to see Best of Photos. Helen Edmundson's THE CLEARING Opens Tonight at 59E59 Theaters
59E59 Theaters is hosting Theater 808 with THE CLEARING, written by Helen Edmundson and directed by Pamela Moller Kareman. THE CLEARING began performances on Thursday, October 6 for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 23. Press opening is tonight, October 11 at 7:30 PM.
HBO Latino Premieres Season 2 of Web Series GRAN'PA KNOWS BEST
HBO Latino will premiere 15 new episodes of the web series GRAN'PA KNOWS BEST , which will air as interstitial programming starting on Friday, June 17, 2016. All episodes will be available on the HBO Latino linear channel as well as HBO GO, HBO Now, and HBO On Demand starting on June 17, 2016.

BROWNSVILLE BRED Returns to the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, 7/7-8/25
After more than five years, multiple awards, rave reviews, a sold out Off Broadway run, corporate and college tours, and a book deal with Parachute Publishing, Elaine Del Valle's autobiographical one woman play, BROWNSVILLE BRED, returns to where it all started -- Nuyorican Poets Cafe (236 East 3rd Street, between Avenues B & C, in the East Village). Directed by Pamela Moller Kareman, BROWNSVILLE BRED begins performances on Monday, July 7 at for a limited engagment through Monday, August 25. The performance schedule is Monday at 7:15 PM.
Tony Shalhoub, Roberta Reardon & More to Attend 2012 HOLA Awards Tonight, 10/8
Attending the 13th Annual Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) Awards presented by Delta Air Lines tonight, October 8, 2012 will be SAG-AFTRA elected leadership reps that include national SAG-AFTRA Co- President, Roberta Reardon and national SAG-AFTRA Co-Treasurer and Co-Secretary, Amy Aquino. Also joining the celebration will be Tony Plana, Tony Shalhoub, Brooke Adams and CNN's Jane Vélez-Mitchell. A special tribute to the late Lupe Ontiveros will be given by Latin Heat Editor and co-host of 'HOLA L.A.' Bel Hernández. Odalys Molina and Jorge Ramos will serve as the Masters of Ceremonies of this year's HOLA Awards.
Celebrities Read Dr. Seuss Books for NEA Read Across America Event, 3/2
On March 2nd, Animazing Gallery will present The Art of Dr. Seuss - A Retrospective to commemorate the 108th birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and to kick off the National Education Association's 16th annual Read Across America event. Throughout the day, actors from Seussical the Musical will read Dr. Seuss books, which have been donated by Random House, to groups of school children from the area.
2011 NY Innovative Theatre Awards Honor Robert Patrick et al.' Winners Announced!
On Monday September 19, 2011, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host comedian Harrison Greenbaum, announced the 2011 recipients at the Seventh Annual IT Awards Ceremony at Cooper Union.
This year's nominees represent 169 individual artists, 55 productions and 45 theatre companies. In 2011, the IT Awards had the most individual nominees than in any previous season with 169 nominees.
