BIO

Broadway credits include It Shoulda Been You, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Curtains, The Drowsy Chaperone, Noises Off, The Green Bird, Me and My Girl and Alice in Wonderland. Off-Broadway, he received an Obie and a Dramalogue for his performance in Jeffrey. Other off-Broadway includes THE MILK TRAIN DOESN’T STOP HERE ANYMORE, MY NIGHT WITH REG, PRIVATES ON PARADE, and as Oscar Wilde in GROSS INDECENCY. For “Encores” at New York’s City Center, LADY IN THE DARK and ANYONE CAN WHISTLE. For the Lyric Opera in Chicago, he appeared as Max in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. In London’s West End he appeared in THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP, LEND ME A TENOR and TWELFTH NIGHT. He recently debuted his cabaret act CAN’T SOMETHING BE DONE at 54 Below and appears in the concert LOVE, NOEL; The Letters and Music of Noel Coward, with Christine Ebersole. Films include TAKING WOODSTOCK, THE PRESTIGE, EVERYONE SAYS I LOVE YOU and THE FIRST WIVES CLUB.

Patti LuPone in Plays- A History

Review: THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is Anything but Drowsy at MAD Theatre of Tampa

The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical comedy, about a musical within a comedy, featuring music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. With a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, this musical tells the story of a fictional 1928 musical. The story itself centers around a character, 'Man in Chair,' as he describes to the audience his trepidations in life and this overwhelming feeling of sadness and foreboding which he calls 'Blue.' So over the course of two hours the 'Man in Chair,' takes the audience on a journey using the only thing he knows that will cheer him up, his love of Musical Theatre tunes, specifically classics such as The Drowsy Chaperone.
TFANA's Production of WEDDING BAND Starring Brittany Bradford, Thomas Sadoski & More Has Been Extended

TFANA has extended the run of Alice Childress’s Wedding Band, directed by Awoye Timpo, to May 22. (The production, which began previews April 28—postponed from an original date of April 23 due to two COVID-19 cases—was formerly set to close May 15).

We give you a sneak peek at the Broadway musical 'The Drowsy Chaperone', which welcomed back to Broadway, Tony Award winner Sutton Foster and introduced us all to Bob Martin as Man in Chair. We also met the cast of Mark St. Germain's play, 'The God Committee', but the episode starts at the opening night of Roundabout's production of Joe Orton's comedy 'Entertaining Mr. Sloane' which featured a stellar cast including Chris Carmack, Alex Baldwin and the late great Jan Maxwell, whom Richard Ridge says, 'was one of the greatest actresses of her generation'.

An annual sold-out event that is an exclusive New York musical theater experience, BROADWAY BELTS FOR PFF! featured Broadway stars performing some of their favorite songs and original pieces to benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF). The benefit began as a tribute to Michael Kuchwara, Associated Press theater critic, who died suddenly of pulmonary fibrosis in 2010. Julie Halston, a founding partner of the event, is one of the PFF's leading advocates nationwide and shined as the evening's host (Her Broadway credits include Tootsie, Hairspray, Gypsy, and You Can't Take It With You).

The evening was directed by Carl Andress with choreography by Nathan Peck, based on original choreography by Marcos Santana. Grammy Award® and Emmy Award®-winner John McDaniel wrote new orchestrations for the score and served at the evening's music director, conducting a 28 piece on stage orchestra.
