MCP Returns To The Graveyard With CONTINUING TALES FROM SPOON RIVER
The script for the show is adapted from the Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters. In his anthology, Masters imagines what the dead of Spoon River might say, if only they could speak. MCP's adaptation of Master's anthology pieces together some of these tales from beyond in an intriguing stroll through the cemetery of Spoon River.

Thirteen schools have been invited to perform on the main stage at the nation’s leading high school theatre festival. The International Thespian Festival takes place June 22-25, 2021, in its all-virtual format. Produced by the Educational Theatre Association, the festival celebrates student achievement in the performing arts.

Lineup Announced For The 2020 In Scena! Italian Theater Festival
The New York City-based Kairos Italy Theater along with the Italy-based KIT Italiana and Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at NYU will present the eighth annual In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, a festival of Italian theater taking place in all five boroughs of NYC (participating venues to be announced), April 27-May 11, 2020. Actors Co-Op Brings The Mystery Of Irma Vep To Crossley Theatre
Actors Co-op (Ovation Winner 2018 Best Direction of a Musical - Intimate Theatre) is proud to present Charles Ludlam's The Mystery of Irma Vep - A Penny Dreadful, directed by Carla Cackowski, produced by Carly Lopez. This hilarious two-actor, multi-character comedic thriller is a nod to the classic Gothic melodramas and early fright flicks of the 30s and 40s. The play will run October 4 through November 10 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre in Hollywood
Citadel Theatre To Perform Moliere's SCAPIN Outdoors
Citadel Theatre will continue its practice of producing classic theatre in bucolic Lake County outdoor settings with this summer's production of SCAPIN, the 17th Century farce by Moliere. SCAPIN will be directed by Frank Farrell, who helmed the company's previous summer productions of Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET, AS YOU LIKE IT, and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM; and SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY, Farrell's musical dramatic adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters' poetry. Farrell, well-known to Citadel audiences for his portrayals of Dickens' Scrooge in both 2011 and in 2017, has written a new adaptation of the comedy for this production.

ShawChicago presents Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology as its spring fundraiser. Starring Paddy Lynn, Jon Lynn and Patti Ecker, this is a one night production on June 12 at the Ruth Page Theater, 1016 N. Dearborn, from 7 to 9:30 PM. A dessert and wine reception will follow the performance.
