New York Live Arts 2018 Live Ideas Gala, co-chaired by Slobodan Randjelovi? and Jon Stryker and Ruth and Stephen Hendel and hosted by award-winning performer and playwright Anna Deavere Smith, pays tribute to Live Arts' annual Live Ideas Festival. The Gala will take place at Irving Plaza, 17 Irving Place, New York City on Monday, April 16, starting with a cocktail reception at 6:30pm and followed by the dinner and program at 7:15pm.

New York Live Arts presents LIVE IDEAS 2018: RADIAL VISION

An annual interdisciplinary humanities festival, Live Ideas is a high point of the New York Live Arts season. This year's festival, Live Ideas 2018: Radical Vision, presented April 18-22, 2018, at New York Live Arts, will offer five days of activity designed to imagine the future and understand the past of an open and democratic society. Through public forums, performances, readings, and workshops, the festival will offer a forward-looking, critical appraisal of four key democratic institutions: the press, big tech, the criminal justice system, and our electoral process. Bringing together artists, activists, journalists, and scholars, Live Ideas 2018: Radical Vision is co-curated by culture creator Brian Tate, president of The Tate Group, and presented in partnership with the Hannah Arendt Center at Bard College with curatorial input from Roger Berkowitz, the Center's director.

If you missed The Muny's production of 42nd STREET, you missed a show that was an absolutely perfect fit for the wide open spaces its stage presents. The original Warner Bros. 1933 pre-production code film was a blend of behind the scenes melodrama and onstage eye-candy. It gave depression era audiences a chance to escape from their worries with Lloyd Bacon's direction of the story and Busby Berkley's show-stopping musical direction. And, that's the caliber of entertainment you'll find on stage at The MUNY. It's an extravaganza that verges on pure spectacle, with that enormous canvas worked to perfection; a snappy mix of what made the movie and the Broadway version so successful.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Managing Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, April 26 - June 1 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. The classic musical comedy, with book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert and songs by Frank Loesser features direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Rob Lindley, music direction by Kory Danielson, in his Porchlight debut and choreography by Porchlight Artistic Associate Brenda Didier. The schedule is Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is an added matinee performance Thursday, May 29 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $43.50 for all other performances. Zimmermann & de Perrot to Perform at August Wilson Center, 10/16-18

The Pittsburgh Dance Council, a division of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced Zimmermann & de Perrot, from Switzerland, will perform at the August Wilson Center, 980 Liberty Avenue, Downtown Pittsburgh in the Cultural District, their U.S. premiere of Hans was Heiri on Wednesday, October 16th, at 8:00 p.m, Thursday, October 17th, at 8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 18th at 8:00 p.m., as part of Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts*.
