Don Devers was a celebrated NFL star linebacker for 9 years. Now in his 50s, the toll of his excellence has decimated his body and mind. He spends his days in his chair subsisting on Gatorade and Pringles. Don's daughter sets up a meeting with Don's biggest fan, aspiring sports writer Ed Ryan.
World Premiere of HALFTIME WITH DON Rolls Through Phoenix Theatre
National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the continuation of the Rolling World Premiere Halftime with Don by Ken Weitzman at Phoenix Theatre. The play will receive a total of three distinct NNPN RWP productions, rolling through Core Members New Jersey Repertory Company (Long Branch; June 24-July 30, 2017), Phoenix Theatre (Indianapolis, IN; October 25-November 19, 2017), and B Street Theatre (Sacramento, CA; September 11-23, 2018). Halftime with Don was a finalist for the 2015 National Showcase of New Plays and is NNPN's 65th Rolling World Premiere.

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces the Rolling World Premiere of Halftime with Don one of the last three productions before our move to the new facility on Illinois and Walnut Streets. Opening January 12, 2018 on the Frank and Katrina Basile Stage, this production runs through February 4th.

Brooklyn's Ryan Repertory Tours SINGING FOR THE BOYS
Brooklyn based Ryan Repertory Company, now in its 45th season, and Family Music Centers are proud to present Singing For The Boys. In a "performance that never was but should have been" Al Jolson, Judy Garland and Deanna Durbin come together in 1943 at the Palace Theatre in New York City for a one-night benefit performance to support the overseas war effort and to entertain the troops. Through their signature hit songs and popular songs of the period the audience is taken on a personal journey that reveals what made these three performers truly legendary and what made them so very human, both onstage and backstage.
