CABARET Set as the Next Production at the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre

'What good is sitting alone in your room. Come hear the music play' when the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre features the musical Cabaret as the next production. Set to begin Friday, August 26, the musical continues through Sunday, September 4 with performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm.

The fourth year of Denver's Bobby G Awards brought a new couple of thespians to the forefront of Denver's high school musical theatre scene. They'll be making their Broadway debut in just a few days at the National High School Musical Theatre (The Jimmy) Awards at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. Currently they're in the midst of a 10-day intensive that began earlier this week on Sunday.

With its soaring expressways and seemingly endless geography, little defines Houston in the public consciousness more than urban sprawl. This fall, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) takes on the implications of this development pattern in the national exhibition, 'SPRAWL.' Co-curated by former HCCC Curatorial Fellow, Susie J. Silbert, and former HCCC Curator, Anna Walker, 'SPRAWL' features 16 emerging and mid-career artists whose works deal with the urban landscape.

Main Street Theater's Autumn Follies Gala was held Friday, October 9 at Main Street Theater - Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd. This year's celebrity-studded, one-night-only benefit performance was the original musical send-up Montrose Mia!, with cameo appearances by local celebrities including Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, local actor and former television news anchor Bob Boudreaux, Houston Woman Magazine's Beverly Denver, the Houston Downtown Alliance's Heather Pray, Ernie Manouse, Host of PBS' InnerVIEWS with Ernie Manouse, Momentum Audi/ Volkswagen General Manager Jared Lang, HoustonPBS' Doug Mueller, and artist Wendy Wagner. Professional actors Christianne Mays and Doris Davis anchored the production.
