A beautiful evening of Shakespeare's words performed by ASP's Resident Acting Company and Youth and music by the incomparable cellist Yo-Yo Ma honored 10 Luminaries, 10 years and raised a remarkable $100,000 for Actors' Shakespeare Project. A sold-out crowd filled Cambridge's Royal Sonesta Grand Ballroom for Bidding for Good auction, reception and sit-down dinner. with rapturous applause and standing ovations throughout the evening on Monday December 2. Emceeing the tributes were Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Executive Producer Sara Stackhouse. Check out the photos below!

Menagerie Theatre Company in association with Theatre503 will present highlights from this years' HotbEd Cambridge Festival of New Writing with a season entitled HOTBED FESTIVAL DOUBLE BILL. Headlining will be Steve Waters' (Bush Theatre, Donmar) new one-act play WHY CAN'T WE LIVE TOGETHER? - exploring the lives of an ordinary couple sketched against the backdrop of the extraordinary world events from 2000-2013. The production will run at Theatre503, above the Latchmere in Battersea, from today, 15 October to 9 November 2013.

Boston Comedy Arts Festival Announces 5th Anniversary Line-Up

Now in its fifth year, the Boston Comedy Arts Festival continues to kick-off the Fall with an explosion of comedy. This year, the festival runs from Tuesday September 3-Sunday September 8. It will include shows at ImprovBoston and at the Brattle Theatre. The festival begins with two performances from the famed Cambridge Footlights, and will also include shows with Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall and Jimmy Tingle. The festival will also see the return of improv from Junior Varsity and the Magnet Theater Tour Co. Stand-up highlights along with Jimmy Tingle include NYC comicsBoris Khyakin and Justin Williams, Boston comics Lamont Price and Matt D., and Matt White the winner of the 2013 Carolina's Funniest Comic. Tickets cost $18 for every show and student rush tickets are available for $14 at the door. ImprovBoston is located at 40 Prospect Street. The Brattle Theatre is located at 40 Brattle Street. According to published reports, on Wednesday, March 28, the British playwright John Arden died in Galway, Ireland, where he had lived for the past few decades. He is survived by his wife, Margaretta D'Arcy, and four sons.
