The Cleveland Orchestra Announces AT THE MOVIES Series for 2017-18 Season
The Cleveland Orchestra announces a three-concert At the Movies series for the 2017-18 season. Following the popularity of film screenings with live music during the past six seasons, the Orchestra continues the tradition with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, North by Northwest Live, and DISNEY IN CONCERT: Tim Burton's The Nightmare before Christmas. All three movies will be projected on a giant screen above the Severance Hall stage, with music performed live. Two-time Emmy winning Broadway and Television star John Wesley Shipp,currently on the CW's The Flash, plays the iconic role of Juror #8. Directed by the Lantern's Artistic Director Charles McMahon and starring Tony Award-nominated actor Forrest McClendon in the title role, the Lantern's production is inspired by the warrior ethos of feudal Japan, calling into question the rights of the ruler against the rights of his people.
