Lezzie With A 'Z', the one-woman show that is an homage to Liza Minnelli's 1972 filmed theatrical production: Liza (With a Z)that puts a new twist on classic Broadway tunes to tell an autobiographical story of being gay-married and gay-divorced by age 27 will return to The Duplex for four performances in April after a sold out performance in November. Lezzie With A 'Z' was written and is performed by Caitlin Lee Reid and Will Larche with direction and choreography by Joe Barros.

BWW Interview: Lance Horne On His Current Residency at Joe's Pub, His Iconic Collaborators and Trying to Recruit Neve Campbell
Lance Horne is developing new music based on acclaimed author Neil Gaiman's love poems to his wife, Amanda Palmer, is working on a top-secret project with Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears and continues to work with his 'musical husband,' Alan Cumming.
And, if all of that weren't enough, the Emmy-winning composer (ONE LIFE TO LIVE), lyricist and performer has also returned to Joe's Pub for the 2016-2017 season. Having performed at the venue since it first opened its doors in 1998, Horne is currently undertaking a four-part residency of new material---aptly titled NEW WORK, NEW WORK---for which he's been joined by many of his famous friends.
Ahead of the residency's penultimate installment, NEW WORK NEW WORK 3, on April 12 at 7pm, we spoke with Horne by phone about his innumerable collaborators, his history with Joe's and the stars he's still working on teaming up with.
Center for Performance Research to Launch Performing Arts Technical Residency
Center for Performance Research (CPR), an artist-driven organization co- founded by Jonah Bokaer & Chez Bushwick and John Jasperse & Thin Man Dance, Inc. to support the development of new works in contemporary dance, announced today its first ever fully supported technical residency offering artists access to a completely customizable performance space and laboratory. CPRs 1,845 sq ft theater features a LED lighting system; making it one the most technically advanced venues of its size offering technical residencies within the five boroughs. The inaugural residency, generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, will support the work of artist collective The Median Movement comprised of choreographers Xan Burley and Alex Springer, sound designer Will Owen, movement artist Hsiao-Jou Tang, and lighting designer Andy Dickerson. The Median Movement will be in residence at CPR from May 1-7, 2016.
