The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced today that poet, playwright, writer, filmmaker, director, civil rights activist, and educator Kathleen Collins will receive the inaugural Icon Tribute posthumously during the 2021 Gotham Awards Ceremony. Nina Lorez Collins will accept the inaugural Gotham Icon Tribute on behalf of her mother.

London-LA based award-winning global content studio Renowned Films today announced it has appointed former Channel 4 and ITV Love Island Commissioner Kate Maddigan as Head of Studios overseeing global production output and promoted Mark Raeburn to Managing Director as part of the Company's new major expansions plans as CEO Max Welch splits his time between the LA and UK based operations, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Renowned co-founders Duane Jones, Max Welch and Tim Withers.

From Friday, February 22 through Sunday, March 3, BAM presents Living with the Dead: The Films of George A. Romero, a career-spanning retrospective-the first since his death-exploring independent trailblazer Romero (1940-2017) and his use of the horror genre to explore the darkness and paranoia of contemporary America. After ushering in a new era in independent and horror filmmaking with 1968's groundbreaking Night of the Living Dead, Romero embarked on a singular, influential four-decade career, imbuing his all-American nightmares with satiric and deadly serious commentaries on issues like race, capitalism, militarism, and government mistrust. In Romero's films, the monsters are not the other-they are us.

BAM Presents HORROR NOIRE: A HISTORY OF BLACK HORROR
On Monday, February 4 at 7pm, BAM presents the east coast premiere of Xavier Burgin's Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror (2019), a new documentary exploring a century of genre films that by turns utilized, caricatured, exploited, sidelined, and finally embraced Black Americans in Hollywood, tracing a secret history through their connection to the horror genre. The documentary will be followed by a panel discussion with author, educator, and Horror Noire executive producer Tananarive Due, filmmaker R. Shanea Williams, comics author Greg Anderson Elysee, and Horror Noire co-writer/producer and Graveyard Shift Sisters founder Ashlee Blackwell, as well as a screening of Rusty Cundieff's classic urban horror anthology, Tales from the Hood (1995).

Bravo is the #1 cable network among female viewers in F18-49 and F25-54, leading the industry by at least a +16% advantage, its highest margin ever. In addition, Bravo finished 1Q18 as the #5 ad-supported cable network in P18-49, its highest ranking quarter ever in primetime.
