Martha Tedeschi to Leave Art Institute of Chicago for Harvard Art Museums
James Rondeau, President and Eloise W. Martin Director of the Art Institute of Chicago, confirmed last month that the museum's Deputy Director for Art and Research Martha Tedeschi, after months of careful consideration, has accepted an appointment to become the next Elizabeth and John Moors Cabot Director of the Harvard Art Museums.

Founded with a single conservator nearly 60 years ago, the Art Institute's Department of Conservation has now grown to include specialists across all media who help to authenticate, identify, preserve, research, and store our collection, and conservation scientists who focus on materials research of unparalleled intellectual breadth. The department has assumed a central place in all of the museum's activities, contributing to scholarship on our holdings and informing special exhibitions, publications, and education offerings.
Art Institute of Chicago Names New Director
Robert M. Levy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Art Institute of Chicago announced today, January 28, 2016, that after an extensive international search the Board has appointed James Rondeau the new President and Eloise W. Martin Director of the museum. Rondeau will succeed Douglas Druick, who announced in October 2015 his plans to retire after more than 30 years of service to the institution. Rondeau, an internationally respected curator and scholar, has led two of the Art Institute's 11 curatorial departments in his 18 year tenure with the museum.

Art Institute of Chicago to Garner Largest Gift of Art in Museum's History
CHICAGO —Douglas Druick, President and Eloise W. Martin Director of the Art Institute of Chicago, announced today the largest gift of art in the museum's 136-year history: the Edlis/Neeson Collection, 42 iconic masterpieces of contemporary art donated by the Chicago-based collectors and philanthropists Stefan T. Edlis and his wife, Gael Neeson. The gift includes nine works by Andy Warhol, three paintings by Jasper Johns, one Robert Rauschenberg Combine, two paintings by Roy Lichtenstein, four paintings by Gerhard Richter, and a painting and sculpture by Cy Twombly.
