BIO
Doug Shapiro is a music theatre and voice actor based in New York City. His animation work includes voicing several characters for the cast album and live production of FINDING NEMO: THE MUSICAL for Disney and his own cartoon “DougToons,” which can be found on YouTube. Doug also toured the country as the MC and principal vocalist of a 15-piece 1940’s Big Band. A proud veteran of bringing the work of great composer/lyricist teams to light, he has worked on over 35 new musicals in a year’s time. Doug has also been a company member with The Barnstormers in Tamworth, NH for 15 years, recently portraying Man in Chair in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. The theater community rallied together once again with spirited skits, dynamic dance and brilliant bonnets as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ Easter Bonnet Competition returned April 24 and 25, 2023. The performances celebrated in-theater Red Bucket appeals that raised $3,601,355 for meals and medication, health care and hope for those who need them most.

Listeners will hear the tale of Lorraine Stubenski, a gymnast who once 'lost her balance,' and shockingly failed to qualify for the Olympics; 20 years later, with the help of a newly taking-charge housewife and an Israeli fitness guru learning how to 'make aerobics,' Lorraine must face her onetime gymnastic partner and love interest, the diet-pill pushing Trip Allen, in the only place he might be vulnerable: the National Crystal Light Aerobics Championship, hosted by Alan Thicke.

Stars in the House presented a gala and telethon with French Woods Festival of the Arts partnering with the Hancock-French Woods Arts Alliance this past Sunday, August 16th. The virtual Gala reached over 20,000 views throughout the Stars In The House network and raised $26,000 with 100% of the proceeds supporting the College Arts Scholarship Fund.
