BWW Review: THE HIDING PLACE World Premiere is Poignant & Powerful at A.D. Players

Is it possible to be released from the bondage of suffering, while still in the midst of it? How often does sufferinga?'past or presenta?'grasp hold of our entire being, making it near impossible to believe in the goodness around us? BWW Review: BUYER AND CELLAR dazzles at Main Street Theater

Ambition, love, why we do the things we do, all of these topics get drawn out into the ether between the jokes and name-dropping. It's a deep piece despite it just being a rave and rant about a famous lady who hoards her stuff.

Main Street Theater presents the hilarious play Buyer & Cellar  by Jonathan Tolins.  This show is 'an irresistible one-man play from the most peculiar of fictitious premises... This seriously funny slice of absurdist whimsy creates the illusion of a stage filled with multiple people, all of them with their own droll point of view,' said the New York Times.  Doug Atkins, who has done the show once before Ft. Worth, will bring it to life for Houston.
Main Street Theater Announces BUYER & CELLAR

Alex More has a story to tell. A struggling actor in L.A., he takes a dayjob working in the Malibu basement of a beloved megastar (a-hem, Barbra Streisand!!). One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their connection ever make it upstairs in the real world? BUYER & CELLAR is an outrageous comedy about the price of fame, the love-hate relationship between gay men and divas, and the oddest of odd jobs.
