Dorothea Gloria started her acting journey when she was seven years old thanks to her mother. Her mother enrolled her in musical theater workshops in Repertory Philippines and Trumpets Playshop every summer until she was 13. At the age of 13, she was the youngest to be accepted into Trumpets Playshop’s Summerstock where they did the play Pendragon and she played the lead as the young Prince Arthur. When she entered high school, she auditioned and joined the Marie Eugenie Theater of the Assumption (METTA) where she was mentored by Ana Valdes-Lim, the first Filipina to graduate from the acting program in Juilliard. Here, she was not only exposed to musicals, but also to classical theater and straight plays. By the time she reached college, she was granted an acting scholarship in Assumption San Lorenzo for four years. During her college years, she auditioned for the Youth Arm of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA-MTTL) and was accepted. Being part of PETA-MTTL exposed her to perform political plays in different parts of the country. Upon graduation in 2013, she earned the title of Magna Cum Laude for her BA in Theater Arts and the METTA Gold Award which is the highest award given to the student who excelled in the performing arts.
Soon after college, she started her professional career in acting. Notable performances include Annelies in Pramoedya (Cultural Center of the Philippines, 2013), Gino in Pinnochio (Repertory Philippines, 2014), Mary/Bess in Scrooge (Repertory Philippines 2014), Jean in August: Osage County (Repertory Philippines, 2014) where she also won Best Featured Actress in a straight play during the 2014 BroadwayWorld.com awards, Bituin in Isang Daan (Cultural Center of the Philippines, 2015), Melinda in Tugon ni Conchita (Cultural Center of the Philippines, 2015), and Diding in Palasyo ni Valentin (DLSU-CSB, 2015).
Dorothea Gloria has also hosted for several television channels in the Philippines like IBC13, PTV4, and UGB Philippines.
