There have been many successful launches in Florida but the musical lift off last night at Cafe Centro (which is Palm Beach's ground zero for live entertainment) had many stars. Rob Russell’s Open Mic Series made it’s debut and his line-up of singers ignited an evening of diverse singing styles.
Nine Shows Extended at New York Musical Festival
The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theater Festival, has announced extensions for nine productions - A SCYTHE OF TIME, LISA AND LEONARDO, CHILDREN OF SALT, EH DAH? QUESTIONS FOR MY FATHER, TINK!, DUST CAN'T KILL ME, SINGLE, NEWTON'S CADLE and CAMP ROLLING HILLS.
BWW Interview: Choreographer Jonathan Cerullo on LISA AND LEONARDO at NYMF
Choreographer Jonathan Cerullo returns to the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) with the new musical, Lisa and Leonardo. His mentor, acclaimed choreographer Patricia Birch, first introduced him to the festival in its inaugural season. Cerullo had been assisting Birch for thirteen years, and moved into the role of executive producer with her NYMF production of Orphan Train. Subsequently, he went on to stage two other musicals at the festival and also became an evaluator reading new scripts.

The new musical Lisa and Leonardo will be presented at this year's New York Musical Festival. With music by Donya Lane, lyrics by Ed McNamee and book by Donna Lane, Ed McNamee & Michael Unger. Lisa and Leonardo will be directed by Michelle Tattenbaum with musical direction by Robert Frost and choreography by Jonathan Cerullo. The show will begin July 21 and running through July 28 at the Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project (229 W 42nd Street). 2016 NYMF Reveals Initial Lineup
The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial lineup for NYMF 2016. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections, developmental reading selections, and concerts. Now in its thirteenth year, the 2016 Festival will take place in July at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City.
