Donna Carnow (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based pole dancer, movement artist, choreographer, teacher, performer, pole champion, and aerialist. Originally from the Chicago-land area, Donna received her BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated as a James Scholar with honors. She now teaches pole dancing full-time at NYC’s largest aerial dance school, Body & Pole, and has showcased her art across the country in concert halls, nightlife spaces, zoom rooms, and in national pole competitions. Donna has been recognized and awarded for her experimental integration of her post-modern dance background with pole. She holds the title of Pole Sport Organization Central Pole Champion of 2019 (Chicago) and was ranked in the top 10 women competing in US Nationals (San Mateo, CA) that same year. Donna regularly performs with the aerial dance companies Pole Speak and AERA in New York City. She has also performed in Pole Expo’s “Pole Classique'' at the Hard Rock Hotel (Las Vegas), International Pole Convention (New Orleans), DROM (New York), Pole Play (Brooklyn), Pole Theatre USA (Atlanta), Bates Dance Festival (Lewiston, ME), Krannert Center for the Performing Arts (Urbana, IL), Links Hall (Chicago), among others. When not flying through the air, she shares her passion for teaching as a Master Trainer with ElevatED Education Pole + Flexibility Training programs and is the Open Performance Coordinator at Movement Research in NYC.
