BIO

Donald Loftus is an American playwright, librettist and lyricist based in New York City. He has written the book and lyrics for several musicals including, “POLLYANNA, “ABBEY VICTORIA” and “ROUND DUFFY SQUARE” and “ILLUSION”. His full-length plays include “THE SPRINGVALE ARMADILLO”, “PER”, “DRIFTWOOD” and “THE ARCHWAY”. He has also written several short plays such as “RUBY”, “GLOWWORMS” and “DARK MATTER”. He recently won the HRC Showcase Theatre’s’ W Keith Hedrick National Playwriting Award and has been selected to participate in next year’s William Inge Theatre Festival. His works have been presented on stages across America and in the U.K. and in several ZOOM presentations during the pandemic. Donald serves on the Board of Directors of The Dramatist Guild Foundation and is a member of two actor/playwright groups: P.A.G.E.S. and DGPG, both based in New York City.
