It is now presented for the first time in the UK with a stellar West End cast and direction from Charlotte Westenra (Kiss of the Spiderman, Donmar Warehouse; Frost/Nixon, Michael Grandage Company as Associate Director).

Last night (6 March 2019), Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning show School of Rock - The Musical celebrated its 1000th performance in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The cast were joined in the celebrations by Julian Fellowes, who wrote the book for the show, director Laurence Connor and the show's choreographer JoAnn M. Hunter, as well as VIP guests.

Cassidy Janson continues in the title role as well as Lorna Want as song-writer Cynthia Weil, a role for which she won the 2015 Olivier for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical, and Ian McIntosh as song-writer Barry Mann. Actresses Louise Dearman and Laura Pitt-Pulford have an impressive musical haul between them, with Louise the first actress to star as both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked, as well as starring in Guys and Dolls and Kiss Me, Kate, while Laura's recent credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Flowers for Mrs Harris and Oliver! They're now playing conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton in the UK premiere of Side Show, by Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger and Bill Russell, which opens at Southwark Playhouse next week.
