Review: 2024 DPAC Rising Star Awards
The DPAC Rising Star Awards is a regional competition that brings together high school musical theater students from Central and Eastern North Carolina to perform and compete for the chance to represent the Triangle in The National High School Musical Theater (otherwise known as The Jimmy) Awards in New York City on June 24th. The national competition celebrates outstanding student performances in high school musical productions from all over the United States. This year, students from 31 local high schools submitted applications in the hopes of being selected as a Triangle Rising Stars' Top 20 finalist.

10th Annual VOICES OF IRELEAND By Write Out Loud Announced
Write Out Loud - an organization founded in 2007 with a commitment to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading literature aloud for a live audience - presents VOICES OF IRELAND, their tenth annual celebration of the Emerald Isle, with classic and contemporary Irish tales and music. Write out Loud has been producing Voices of Ireland every March since 2011. VOICES OF IRELAND is performed for one night only on Monday, March 16th at 7:30pm at Lamb's Players Theatre. Performers include Agustine Welles, Linda Libby, Walter Ritter & Veronica Murphy. Pre-show and intermission music will be provided by the Celtic Echoes.
HSO To Present Free Summer Concerts

February's First Friday at The Ware Center to Feature Local Gospel Music & Art
The Ware Center in downtown Lancaster invites the community to enjoy local gospel music and art created by Millersville University's Art & Design Department on First Friday, February 5 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster. Tickets are required for the 7:30 p.m. show "Gospel Sounds of Lancaster." There is no charge to view the art exhibit on display.
Local Gospel Choirs to Perform at Ware Center, 2/5
Local gospel choirs and praise dance teams will showcase Lancaster region's gospel community through song and dance at the Ware Center, Friday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. The evening will include choirs and dance teams from Bright Side Baptist Church in Lancaster, New Covenant Community Church in York, Bethel AME Church in Harrisburg, and Millersville University. This joyful event, focused on the gospel scene in the area surrounding Lancaster, will showcase the wonder of praise and have audiences dancing and singing along all through the night. Five talented musicians are joining forces to present "Ride the Chariot," an evening of African American songs including such favorites such as "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Steal Away," "A City Called Heaven," "Ain't Got Time to Die," among others. A contemporary re-visioning of the Shakespeare classic, set in Cape Town 2010 with the Montagues and Capulets running two competing soccer teams. Specially staged for Grades 10 and 11 learners whose set work it is. Daytime performances to accommodate school audiences. Public also welcome at night-time performances.
