Tommy Tune Helps Chicago Human Rhythm Project Celebrate 25th Anniversary

 The Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), celebrating 25 years of creating community through American tap and contemporary percussive arts in world-class, innovative performance, education and outreach programs, welcomed 10-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune at its 25th Anniversary Jubalee Gala. This special evening, hosted by WGN's Dean Richards, took place July 30 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, 220 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago. Attended by 270 people, the event raised $212,000 from a combination of ticket sales, silent and live auction proceeds, table sponsorships and individual and corporate contributions.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel to Receive Juba! Award at Chicago Human Rhythm Project's Jubalee, 10/28

The Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), the world's first year-round presenter of American tap dance and contemporary percussive arts, honors Mayor Rahm Emanuel with its JUBA! Award at JUBALEE, CHRP's annual gala benefit supporting performance, education and community programs that reach more than 20,000 people every year. This special evening, hosted by broadcast legend and civic leader Bill Kurtis, takes place October 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
USC School of Theatre Establishes Robert Redford Award for Engaged Artists

The USC School of Theatre, considered one of the premiere theatre schools in the country, launches a new tradition by honoring celebrated actor/director Robert Redford with the newly established 'Robert Redford Award for Engaged Artists' at an inaugural gala fundraiser on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, 6:30 p.m., at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.
