Osvaldo Golijov has been awarded Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellowships, has won two Grammy Awards for composition, and was Musical America's Composer of the Year in 2006. 21C goes deep into his catalogue with Ayre, a thrill to experience with its lush fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean folk melodies. Starring Canadian soprano Miriam Khalil and staged by AtG's Joel Ivany, Juno-nominated Ayre is presented along with other works such as Mariel, K'vakarat, and Tenebrae. An all-star roster of musicians includes Jamey Haddad (percussion), Barry Shiffman (violin and viola), Michael Ward-Bergman (accordion), Juan Gabriel Olivares (clarinet) Beverley Johnston (percussion), Jeremy Flower (laptop and electronics), Roberto Occhipinti (bass), and Cantor Alex Stein.

MT Shorts will celebrate its official launch, with a premiere screening of its first musical short film, Hey, Beautiful!, by award-winning composing team Nat Zegree and Eric Holmes at a one night only star-studded concert featuring selections from the duo's songbook at The Cutting Room on September 24th at 8PM.
School Of Rock AllStars Take Rock N' Roll On The Road For The 2018 U.S. Tour
School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, is hitting the road this summer. After a nationwide search for the top students in School of Rock's more than 200 schools and more than 30,000 students, seven AllStars bands have been chosen to tour the country and play a full-band show at top music venues throughout the U.S. The tours kick off at the end of July and will hit top cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and more.
Dramatic Academy Gets Set To Stage A Stinky Youth Production
Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy is holding its nose as its latest production takes shape: The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales by John Glore, based on the book by Jon Sciezka and Lane Smith, will be wafting from the Bangor Opera House, November 4-6. Standing familiar fairy tales on their heads, this play offers raucous, silly, stinky fun for the whole family.
TADA! Youth Theater Actors, Designers Receive 2015 National Youth Arts Awards
Two young actresses from the TADA! Resident Youth Ensemble & two of TADA!'s professional designers earned awards from the Tenth Annual National Youth Arts Awards for the 2014-2015 season. TADA! also racked up 12 additional nominations for acting, design & ensemble. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Riverdale YM-YWHA in the Bronx, NY, on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 7pm.
CCPA to Present AN EVENING OF FARCES, 2/13-15
City Circle Acting Company of will present a double-bill of British comedies February 13-15 at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. The program consists of Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound and Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy. Performances of An Evening of Farces are Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, February 15 at 2pm.

Atlantic Theater Company will present the world premiere production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' play BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton and starring Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colon, Liza Colon-Zayas, Tony Award nominee Stephen McKinley Henderson, Michael Rispoli, and Ray Anthony Thomas. The production begins previews Thursday, July 10 and will open Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Saturday, August 16, 2014 off-Broadway at Atlantic's main stage Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).

On December 21 at 2:00PM in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute presented A Charlie Brown Christmas in a special holiday Family Concert with The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke. The staged concert version of Charles M. Schulz's iconic television special brought the beloved Peanuts characters to life through special choreography performed by dancers from New York Theatre Ballet and child actors from TADA! Youth Theater. Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Sesame Street) narrates the heart-warming story, underscored by the music of Vince Guaraldi, performed by The New York Pops and Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA.
