Dallas Museum Of Art Announces 2018 Acquisition And Program Highlights
The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) continued to strengthen and expand its exhibitions and educational programming, bilingual offerings, and curatorial team in 2018 with the appointment of new leadership across departments, the development of expanded education initiatives, and the acquisition of major works across its collections. In support of the DMA's commitment to engaging the community through programs anchored by its collections, three new curators and a new director of education joined the Museum in 2018, and the Museum expanded its off-site and bilingual program offerings. The Museum also added significant works to its collection, including 13 year-end gifts of 512 works of art in contemporary art, sculpture, photography, and the decorative arts.
Holly Hynes and Zack Brown Among 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awardees
Legendary ballet costume designer HOLLY HYNES and costume and scenic designer ZACK BROWN are among the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients which were just announced by TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. Ms. Hynes was selected to receive the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Brown will receive the Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through TDF's Costume Collection. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).

Matisse Exhibition Comes to Oklahoma City, 6/18
OKLAHOMA CITY, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ The Oklahoma City Museum of Art will be the exclusive North American venue to host 'Matisse in His Time: Masterworks of Modernism from the Centre Pompidou, Paris.' The exhibition will include over 100 works of art, including 50 paintings, sculptures and works on paper by Henri Matisse, as well as masterworks by Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Georges Braque, Andr Derain, Fernand Lger and Amadeo Modigliani.
