World-famous guitar-maker Paul Reed Smith and his band, Eightlock, are set to release their new CD, 'Lions Roaring in Quicksand,' on December 1st. The album showcases their unique blend of blues, soul, rock, funk, and other roots sounds, with a lineup featuring three drummers, a bass player, a female singer, and three guitar players.

Grammy-nominated vocalist Jazzmeia Horn has been added to our incredible August 30 Generations concert lineup at Arena Stage; the Corcoran Holt Group featuring rising trumpeter Marquis Hill at Takoma Station; young Brazilian pianist Jose Luis Martins and flutist Alex Hamburger will play the Parks at Walter Reed; saxophonist Langston Hughes II will play Jazz in the Garden; ASCAP-award winning drummer-composer Chase Elodia's Perennials will play DCJF at The Wharf; and the delightful and rangy vocalist Sy Smith has been added to DCJF '22/'23 Artist-in-Residence Orrin Evans' Quintet performance on Saturday, September 2 at The Wharf.

With their velvet vocals, sharp wardrobe and synth-driven percussive arrangements, the St. Paul, Minnesota group Mint Condition has been one of the tightest ensembles on the scene since 1985. Discovered by producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, their lead vocalist and drummer Stokley, became a solo recording artist in 2017.
