Actress, West End performer and Gogglebox star Denise Van Outen is preparing to stream a newly filmed production of her one-woman play, Some Girl I Used to Know. Denise – who co-wrote the play originally with Terry Ronald - will take fans on a nostalgic warm theatrical journey in a bid to escape lockdown blues and lift the spirits of the nation.
Kerry Ellis Releases New Podcast KEEP CALM AND KERRY ON
On April 29, Kerry Ellis is releasing her new podcast Keep Calm And Kerry On. The series is launching with three exclusive episodes with conversations including Arlene Phillips, Beverley Knight and Kimberley Walsh. Recorded entirely during Lockdown via remote recording, These interviews will give a rare insight to the lives of the stars as they deal with life during this time.
Jay McGuiness and Kimberley Walsh Star In SLEEPLESS
Jay McGuiness, Kimberley Walsh and Daniel Casey will star as Sam, Annie and Walter respectively in SLEEPLESS, A Musical Romance, based on the original screenplay Sleepless in Seattle. They are joined by Harriet Thorpe as Eleanor, Tania Mathurin as Becky and Jake Sharp as Rob. SLEEPLESS will premiere in London on 1 April 2020 at the newly opened Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, London, with previews from 24 March.
Kimberley Walsh, Matthew Kelly and Wendi Peters Join Jay McGuiness In BIG
Wendi Peters, Kimberley Walsh and Matthew Kelly will star as Mrs Baskin, Susan Lawrence and George MacMillan respectively. They join the previously announced Jay McGuiness as Josh Baskin. Based on the smash-hit movie starring Tom Hanks, BIG The Musical makes its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre for a strictly limited nine-week season from 6 September to 2 November 2019, with a Gala Night in aid of Make-A-Wish on Tuesday 17 September.
Throwing Out My CDs by Ben Rimalower: SONG & DANCE
The West End and Broadway musical Song & Dance has taken up a lot of space in my CD collection. In addition to the Original London Cast Recording starring Marti Webb (recorded live at the Palace Theatre in 1982), the 1984 British television broadcast from the stage of recently closed production at the Palace starring Sarah Brightman and the Original Broadway Cast Recording (of just the songs half, no dance music...) starring Bernadette Peters, I'm also including the original 1979 'Tell Me on a Sunday' album starring Marti Webb in her first stab at the material, from which the sung portion of Song & Dance was derived, as well as its 2003 London production starring Denise Van Outen.
Denise Van Outen and Katharine McPhee Will Host WAITRESS Album Karaoke Night
The hosts of the first ever Waitress London Cast Album Karaoke Night have been announced today. Smash star Katharine McPhee, who plays Jenna in the West End production, will host the post-show event alongside Denise Van Outen on Tuesday 19 February. Audience members can sign up before the show for the chance to sing one minute of any song from Waitress - live on stage at the Adelphi and accompanied by the show's musical director Katharine Woolley.
Denise Van Outen Will Star As Velma Kelly In CHICAGO in London
Star of stage and screen Denise Van Outen will join the West End cast of CHICAGO at the Phoenix Theatre, playing the role of Velma Kelly from Monday 24 September through to Saturday 17 November 2018. Denise will join Alexandra Burke as Roxie Hart, Duncan James as Billy Flynn, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton and Paul Rider as Amos Hart.
