The Abbey Theatre has announced the world premieres of two new plays, from Irish playwrights Deirdre Kinahan and Mark O'Rowe. Appearing on the stages of Ireland's national theatre in Spring 2023, An Old Song, Half Forgotten by Deirdre Kinahan and Mark O'Rowe's adaptation of the Henrik Ibsen classic Ghosts, will both open in April.

Corrib Theatre presents a Staged Reading of The Frederick Douglass Project—co-written by Psalmayene 24 and Deirdre Kinahan. The Project explores Frederick Douglass' consequential visit to Ireland during the Great Hunger (Famine) of 1845, and imagines his meditations on freedom and bondage during that time.

Theater J and Mosaic to Host Fundraiser Benefit for Ukraine

Theater J and Mosaic Theater, both located in Washington, DC, are collaborating to produce an evening of short Ukrainian plays benefiting Ukrainian charities. The in-person event, consisting of readings of short contemporary plays, will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 8:00 pm at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center (1529 16th Street NW, Washington DC). The evening will raise funds for Ukrainian causes and highlight the plight of artists in Ukraine while showcasing the plays. Some of these plays were commissioned, written, and translated just in the last few weeks, and are based on what the playwrights are currently experiencing in their war-torn country.

Una Crawford O'Brien Will Bring Her Show to Cork as Part of Nationwide Tour

Soap star Una Crawford O'Brien who plays Renee Phelan in the RTE show Fair City is currently getting ready to embark on a nationwide tour. The Carrigstown star will be playing the lead role in the critically acclaimed hit show Halcyon Days which will be showing The Everyman, Cork, from March 21-March 23, as part of a 10 theatre tour across Ireland.

Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival Announces Final Week Highlights
