A CHORUS LINE Opens the Arvada Center 42nd Season

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open its 42nd theatre season with the hit Broadway musical A Chorus Line directed by Rod A. Lansberry, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. A Chorus Line spans one day in the lives of 17 dancers all vying for a coveted spot in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Considered groundbreaking when it opened on Broadway in 1975, the musical went on to win nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Today, it remains as touching and powerful as when it debuted and is one of the longest running musicals on Broadway. The 2017 - 2018 Theatre Season is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center. A Chorus Line is underwritten byDr. and Mrs. Richard A. Patt and The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.
BWW Review: A CHORUS LINE is 'One Singular Sensation' Under Director Donna Feore

This week A Chorus Line at the Stratford Festival confirmed what I've already long suspected: Donna Feore is one of the greatest directors of musicals of our time. Year after year she has managed to put out a top notch main stage musical for the festival as good as anything you'll see on Broadway, Toronto, or the West End.
Road to Opening Week 14: Matt Armet on 1 Weeks to A CHORUS LINE at Stratford

How did we get here already? I'm exhausted! But it's the best kind of exhaustion. I wouldn't have it any other way. We've been having a very busy week. Between A Chorus Line and the other shows we are crossed into, we've all had a preview or dress rehearsal plus a four hour rehearsal call every day this week. We can see the finish line of Opening Week. We are so close!
Road to Opening Week 5: Matt Armet on 10 Weeks to A CHORUS LINE at Stratford

Every Thursday night, I sit down at my computer to write these posts. These Thursdays keep coming around so quickly. I feel like I just wrote the last one yesterday. I'm pooped. We're pooped. We are having a blast, but working very long, very hard days.
Stratford Road to Opening Week 3: Matt Armet and the Cast of A CHORUS LINE Move Into the Theatre!

12 Weeks until Opening Night... There are specific milestone days during rehearsal every season. One of my favourite milestones happened this week: first day onstage. It always seems to creep up on us so quickly here at the Stratford Festival. They love to get us onstage as early as possible. This year we had 13 primary rehearsal days in the rehearsal hall before our first onstage day this past Wednesday.
Exclusive: Inside Stratford's First A CHORUS LINE Rehearsal

BroadwayWorld has exclusive photos from inside the first rehearsal of A CHORUS LINE at The Stratford Festival! The company began rehearsals yesterday, February 16. A CHORUS LINE is a stunning musical-verite about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration.

BWW Reviews: Horsing Around with WARHORSE

A great poet named Robert Frost once said, 'poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.' WarHorse, in much the same way, is a play that found its words in moments full of 'naysaying' and silence.
BWW Reviews: WAR HORSE Brings Heartwarming Tale to Nashville

This week Nashville is gifted the chance to see War Horse at Tennessee Performing Arts Center. It isn't often that a person can say that a horse is the main character of a play, but that's just what War Horse gives you. Set in World War 1 era England, War Horse explores the relationship between a horse and his boy. When the horse, Joey, is sold to the war effort, his owner Albert can't bare to be apart from him and runs away, lies about his age, and joins the military.
