A CHORUS LINE Opens the Arvada Center 42nd Season
The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open its 42nd theatre season with the hit Broadway musical A Chorus Line directed by Rod A. Lansberry, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. A Chorus Line spans one day in the lives of 17 dancers all vying for a coveted spot in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Considered groundbreaking when it opened on Broadway in 1975, the musical went on to win nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Today, it remains as touching and powerful as when it debuted and is one of the longest running musicals on Broadway. The 2017 - 2018 Theatre Season is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center. A Chorus Line is underwritten byDr. and Mrs. Richard A. Patt and The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.

This week A Chorus Line at the Stratford Festival confirmed what I've already long suspected: Donna Feore is one of the greatest directors of musicals of our time. Year after year she has managed to put out a top notch main stage musical for the festival as good as anything you'll see on Broadway, Toronto, or the West End.

Road to Opening Week 14: Matt Armet on 1 Weeks to A CHORUS LINE at Stratford
How did we get here already? I'm exhausted! But it's the best kind of exhaustion. I wouldn't have it any other way. We've been having a very busy week. Between A Chorus Line and the other shows we are crossed into, we've all had a preview or dress rehearsal plus a four hour rehearsal call every day this week. We can see the finish line of Opening Week. We are so close!

Stratford Road to Opening Week 3: Matt Armet and the Cast of A CHORUS LINE Move Into the Theatre!
12 Weeks until Opening Night... There are specific milestone days during rehearsal every season. One of my favourite milestones happened this week: first day onstage. It always seems to creep up on us so quickly here at the Stratford Festival. They love to get us onstage as early as possible. This year we had 13 primary rehearsal days in the rehearsal hall before our first onstage day this past Wednesday.

Due to popular demand, a performance has been added to the regularly scheduled run of A CHORUS LINE. The added performance will take place on Sunday, January 17 at 7:30pm, making week two of the run a 9-performance week. A CHORUS LINE runs from January 5 through 24, 2016 at Riverside Theatre.

This week Nashville is gifted the chance to see War Horse at Tennessee Performing Arts Center. It isn't often that a person can say that a horse is the main character of a play, but that's just what War Horse gives you. Set in World War 1 era England, War Horse explores the relationship between a horse and his boy. When the horse, Joey, is sold to the war effort, his owner Albert can't bare to be apart from him and runs away, lies about his age, and joins the military.

Held at the rehearsal studio in Liberty Village, many people came out to get a first glimpse at the Canadian 'Joey' and his fellow castmates. It was hard to find a dry eye in the house by the time they were done their run-through, and BWW is thrilled to bring its readers these photos from that special morning.
