Since graduating from the Gaiety School of Acting in 1991, Dawn has worked extensively in film, television and theatre at home and abroad.
She is recently played the role of Mam in the Landmark & Everyman stage adaptation of Louise O'Neill's ASKING FOR IT at the Birmingham Rep Theatre.
Dawn most recently filmed the role of Cepta in the tv series DUBLIN MURDERS for Element Pictures.
Recent credits include the role of Nora Mahon in RTÉ's historical drama RESISTANCE, the role of Hannah Sheehy-Skeffington in Treasure Entertainment's TRIAL OF THE CENTURY directed by Maurice Sweeney for TV3, the the role of Jane in Damian O'Callaghan's feature THE GIFT, the Sky 1 comedy MOONE BOY, the feature film '71 directed by Yann Demanage, UNITED PASSIONS directed by Frédéric Aubertin, the RTÉ series BURNING WISHES directed by Vincent Gallagher and DAY OFF a short film directed by Stephen Hall, in which she plays the role of Laura.
Dawn's stage credits include the role of Mona in Tom Murphy's THE GIGLI CONCERT, directed by David Grindley at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, DANDELIONS, directed by Michael Caven, POOR BEAST IN THE RAIN directed by Conor McPherson, PYGMALION directed by Robin LeFevre, DANCING AT LUGHNASA directed by Joe Dowling, JANE EYRE and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, both directed by Alan Stanford.
Dawn has also worked in major film and TV productions; her film work includes KING ARTHUR and DISCO PIGS, while her television work includes THE RUNNING MATE, THE CLINIC, PURE MULE, BALLYKISSANGEL and FATHER TED.
Dawn was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress at the Irish Film and Television Awards in 2008 for her role as Cara Madigan in RTÉ’s THE CLINIC. She is also the recipient of a Tony Award Nomination for Best Actress in a Featured role for THE LONESOME WEST in 1999, and Best Supporting Actress Award for THE LONESOME WEST at the Irish Time ESB Theatre Award in 1997. In 2005, she received a Best Actress nomination for her role in PYGMALION in the Irish Times Theatre Awards, and a best actress award for PURE MULE from the Irish Film and Television Awards.
Dawn is also a highly-experienced voice-over artist and has worked on numerous radio dramas for BBC Radio 4 and RTÉ Radio 1.
