The Steps Beyond Foundation, Steps on Broadway's non-profit organization that connects artists and community through dialogue, performance, and artistic collaboration, announces New Voices, New Works, New Stories, December 8 at 7:00 p.m, a performance lab to bolster and support the choreographic voice. This curated program includes 11 emerging and established artists selected by an esteemed committee to present works in theater, jazz, modern, tap, contemporary and ballet. Each choreographer selected for the lab is granted discounted rehearsal space, free marketing, and the technical tools to cultivate the evening presentation.

International Tour Seeks The Serious Students at Steps on Broadway
Steps on Broadway, NYC's legendary professional dance center committed to training and maintaining the integrity of the art form, increases their international reach with a first-time national and international audition tour. Led by newly appointed Student Programs Audition Director, Davis Robertson, under the direction of Mindy Upin Jackson, Director of Professional Training Programs, and Kate Thomas, Director of The School at Steps, a 12-city tour is underway through early Spring and offers the dedicated dancer various opportunities for study during the summer months and beyond. Through intensive training, performance, and evaluations, these intimate curriculum-based programs, Summer Study NYC: A Contemporary Intensive, Steps Conservatory, and the International Independent Study Program, create polished, versatile dancers brimming with the confidence and enthusiasm to enter the highly competitive world of concert and commercial dance. The audition tour will also be recruiting students for The School at Steps' Senior Summer Intensive, for aspiring professional dancers ages 15-18.
Franklin Performing Arts Center to Welcome the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group on 2/21
The prestigious Joffrey Ballet Concert Group graces THE BLACK BOX in downtown Franklin with a spectacular program of dance that includes Gerald Arpino's celebrated signature work, Light Rain. The performance, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, is presented as part of THE BLACK BOX Artist-in-Residence Series, which also features afternoon master classes with Nicole Duffy Robertson, a repetiteur for The Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation and a faculty member at the Joffrey Ballet School, a premiere institution of American dance.
DanceOn and Joffrey Ballet School Announce New Partnership
DanceOn Network has signed a multi-year deal with the Joffrey Ballet School as an official channel partner, and will work with them on their overall digital video strategy. To launch the partnership, DanceOn and Joffrey Ballet School, two of the top dance organizations, have teamed up to create a YouTube video influencer campaign and contest promoting the first annual Elite Dance Tournament, presented by Joffrey Ballet School and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. The video series features dancers from Complexions and the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group. Complexions co-founder and co-artistic director Desmond Richardson, who the New York Times has described as 'one of the great modern dancers of his time,' is also featured in the videos.
Spring 2015's Elite Dance Tournament to Award Apprenticeship with Complexions Contemporary Ballet
Joffrey Ballet School, a world-renowned dance center offering the most versatile and highest quality training, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, known for their, partner to launch the first annual Elite Dance Tournament. The new national competition, which is focused on educational empowerment through constructive evaluation, will take place in six cities with a variety of master classes and focus on ballet, jazz and contemporary styles. In its inaugural year, the tournament will provide an apprenticeship with Complexions Dance Company; a full- time position with the Joffrey Concert Group; and $180,000 in cash and scholarships, including $10,000 each for the ultimate dancer, studio and choreographer.
Joffrey Concert Group to Premiere Three New Works with Five Choreographers at New York Live Arts, 5/19-20
Joffrey Concert Group, a pre-professional performance company that prepares dancers for the world stage, will present two evenings of work at New York Live Arts, May 19-20. The troupe of 30 dancers will perform two signature works by Gerald Arpino-Kettentanz (1971), a neoclassical tour de force inspired by Old Vienna, and Light Rain (1981) a sensual evocation of the zeitgeist of the 1970's, performed in full for the first time in New York City since the Joffrey Ballet presented it twenty years ago. In addition, the program features two world premieres by Shawn Hounsell (formerly Royal Winnipeg) and Africa Guzman (former Associate Director of Compania Nacional de Danza under Nacho Duato), with a New York Premiere by Scott Rink (Lar Lubovitch Dance Company).
Joffrey Ballet School Winter Concert to Feature 100 Dancers, 2 Debuts and 5 Restaged Works, 2/22-23
Joffrey Ballet School, a world-renowned dance center offering the most versatile and highest quality training, will present a Winter Concert collaboration highlighting the schools' Jazz and Contemporary Trainees and the Joffrey Concert Group. The celebrated fusion of performers will take place February 22, 8:30 p.m. and February 23, 4:00 p.m. at the Salvatore Capezio Theater. The program will feature seven new and restaged works from legendary choreographers Jennifer Archibald, Donald Byrd, Daniel Gwirtzman, Brian McSween, Davis Robertson, Margo Sappington and Chet Walker.

Joffrey Ballet School, a world-renowned dance center offering the most versatile and highest quality training, will once again present Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker this holiday season with 355 dancers - the largest cast in the school's 60-year history. Returning to the Skirball Performing Arts Center, Joffrey Ballet School will perform five performances of the holiday favorite with three casts, today, December 13 - 15, 2013. In addition to delighting in the timeless tale of The Nutcracker, audiences will also enjoy its rich legacy of culture, with dances inspired by Spain, Arabia, China and Russia.
