John Waters, Rita Mae Brown to Be Honored at the 27th Annual Lambda Literary Awards

Lambda Literary is pleased to announce that John Waters will receive Lambda's Trustee Award for Excellence in Literature an Rita Mae Brown will receive the Pioneer Award at the 27th Annual Lambda Literary Awards ('Lammys'). Waters and Brown will be honored along with the winning authors of 24 separate LGBT literary categories as determined by over 90 judges. The Lammys bring together over 450 attendees, sponsors and celebrities to celebrate excellence in LGBT literature, making it the most glamorous and prestigious LGBT literary event in the world. Suede's special guests are the splendid Brighton-based indie rockers BRITISH SEA POWER, the title of whose current album, 'Machineries of Joy', was inspired by a collection of short stories by the great sci-fi author, Ray Bradbury. The band recently performed their soundtrack for the documentary film 'From the Land to the Sea', directed by Penny Woolcock, at the Sundance London Film and Music Festival at the 02 and at the Sheffield Documentary Festival. Larry Kramer to Receive 2013 Isabelle Stevenson Award

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that Larry Kramer will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award. This award will be presented at the 2013 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 9th. The 2013 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
