Dave Toole is an Actor, Singer, Guitarist, and Songwriter born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (US). David began his career as a rock vocalist and guitarist, fronting Identity X; a band he is still actively involved with (www.idxmusic.com).
David attended Robert Morris University, where he earned an Emmy award in the College Music Production category for the music Video "Archetype" which he wrote and co-produced alongside Darin DiNapoli and NYC based director and film maker Brad Grimm.
David began performing professionally while still a junior in college taking his first professional role as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Pittsburgh Musical Theater. He earned his Equity Card soon after and has been on stage practically non stop since that time performing throughout the US. In 2008 he won the Broadway World Award (Raleigh and Pittsburgh Regions) for Best Actor in a Musical (Guy, "Once" and Gallelio Figaro, "We Will Rock You"). In 2019 David was invited to perform with Jason Robert Brown in a concert produced by Theatre Raleigh at the CAM Raleigh. In 2020 David performed at Tuacahn Amphitheatre as Edmund Dantès, the title role in The Count of Monte Cristo Musical, working with composer Frank Wildhorn, writer Jack Murphy, and director Scott Anderson to revamp the production for an American audience. Outside of theater David is one of a handful of rotating anthem singers for the Pittsburgh Penguins professional hockey team, maintains and teaches at his private voice studio in Pittsburgh, PA.
