A Benefit In Support Of Arts Education For All NYC Public School Students Comes to The Yale Club of New York City
This Monday, April 29, 2019 is the annual benefit for The Center for Arts Education 'CAE CELEBRATION 2019' at The Yale Club of New York City (50 Vanderbilt Ave.) This gala evening is a benefit in support of arts education for all NYC public school students. There will be performances by: Lillias White, Emmy and Tony Award winning Broadway performer;Taia Bell, CAE Career Development Program alumna; and Hollis Headrick Jazz Ensemble. The CHAMPION OF ARTS EDUCATION HONOREES are Mark Golden, CEO, Golden Artist Colors, Inc. and Emmanuel Lubin, Field Support Liaison, NYC DOE District 29. This year's gala was hosted by Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski ('The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' Nine) and featured special guest and Tony Award nominee for Airline Highway K. Todd Freeman, and performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including: Beautiful, Finding Neverland, Gigi, It Shoulda Been You, On The Town, Something Rotten!, and The Visit. Final Analysis and Breakfast with Mugabe will open in repertory at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center in August and will have a limited run engagement through the first week of October. Producers of Final Analysis and Breakfast With Mugabe are utilizing the innovative crowd-funding platform, Kickstarter, to help defray production expenses.

Manhattan Theatre Club is pleased to announce guests and dates for After Words, the popular discussion series at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street), which will feature friends, colleagues and scholars of the work of Samson Raphaelson. The series will kick off this Saturday, April 18 following the matinee performance of ACCENT ON YOUTH with Grafton Nunes, Founding Dean of the Emerson College School of the Arts, and Daniel Sullivan, the Tony Award winning director of ACCENT ON YOUTH. The discussion will be moderated by Lisa McNulty, MTC's Artistic Associate.
BROADWAY LEAGUE Awards New York Education Grants to American Plan and 9 to 5: The Musical
The Broadway League has awarded coveted New York Education Grants to the Broadway productions of Manhattan Theatre Club?s The American Plan, by Richard Greenberg, and to 9 to 5: The Musical. Each production receives a $5,000 grant towards its 2009 educational initiatives. The grants are important to the growth and development of theatre education and audience development in the city as they encourage theatres to create more opportunities for young people and to exchange ideas about live performance.
