In Crippled, he explores the debilitating effects of grief and the challenge of learning to move forward, while also living with a physical disability. Power, both the playwright and a performer in Crippled, is himself living with a physical disability, a not uncommon identity that nonetheless finds little representation on our stages. With his award-winning ensemble play, he set out to create a piece that would speak to the fullness of his own human experience as a disabled artist, while exploring the universal languages of love, loss, and learning to live.
