Independent distributor Row House Films has acquired theatrical and virtual cinema rights to the charmingly quirky indie road-trip comedy MONUMENTS, and will bring the film to select independent theaters for in-person and virtual-cinema screenings beginning June 4.

Players Workshop Returns With New Mission And Classes Starting Next Week
Players Workshop, the original school of improvisation in Chicago established in 1970, is reopening its doors just in time for a 50th anniversary celebration next year with classes beginning at its new facility, Pendulum Theatre, 1803 W. Byron Street, #216, starting Monday, Sept. 16. New owner Jeff Rogers, actor, creative director, and motivational speaker (Class of '89), has brought back founder Josephine Forsberg's daughter Linnea Forsberg ('70) and former teacher Doug Voegtle ('81) to recreate the famed safe learning space. AMC Networks announced today the premiere dates for several new and returning original series, including second seasons of AMC's mystic modern-day fable Lodge 49 and horror-infused anthology The Terror: Infamy, IFC's new musical variety sketch comedy Sherman's Showcase and SundanceTV's Close Up with The Hollywood Reporter, quirky comedy Rosehaven Season 3 and the new true crime thriller No One Saw A Thing.

Chicago Creatives, Which Include Second City Alums, Unite To Launch Studio B
What happens when a group of talented Chicago musicians, actors, improvisers, stand-ups, songwriters, and DJs collaborate on a web series? You get "STUDIO B," the three-episode workplace comedy of a struggling Chicago recording studio trying to make a comeback along with supporting its bizarre clientele. STUDIO B can best be described as "30 Rock" meets Spinal Tap coupled with original music by composer Julie B. Nichols. Each episode follows a different musical act entering the studio to record what they hope will be their break-through hit, while the studio staff hopes it will keep them afloat. The first season of STUDIO B will be released Monday, Oct. 22 at 10 p.m. and will be available on www.studiobseries.com, as well as on Vimeo, YouTube, and Instagram TV. The creators of STUDIO B are hosting a public launch party the date of the release (Monday, Oct. 22 from 5 - 10 p.m.) at The Joinery, 2533 W. Ike Reilly's Seventh Studio Album CROOKED LOVE Out Tomorrow 5/18
Libertyville, IL indie rock singer-songwriter Ike Reilly is set to release his seventh studio album, Crooked Love, on CD and digital formats on May 18, 2018 via Rock Ridge Music. (A vinyl version will be released later this year.) Since his major label debut, the groundbreaking Salesmen and Racists, Reilly has been making punk/folk/blues influenced rock 'n' roll records that lean heavily on stories of outsiders with keen details and broad strokes that insinuate a crack in the American dream. Reilly's band, The Assassination, has been called one of the best live bands in America, and the body of recorded work they've turned out has been poetic, rebellious, wholly original, and critically acclaimed.
