In its continued effort to maximize its intimate setting, offer new entertainment fare to its guests and celebrate its 50th Anniversary season, the Alhambra Theatre & Dining is hosting the popular 70's rock band, Ambrosia. With its roots in the California rock scene, Ambrosia had five hit singles including 'Biggest Part of Me,' 'You're the only Woman' and 'How Much I Feel,' each of which were nominated for Grammy Awards. Ambrosia will play on the Alhambra's iconic stage on Monday, May 8, 2017, for one night only.

One of the joys of reviewing cabaret is being fortunate enough to discover a remarkable talent. I experienced that feeling this past Saturday night at Don't Tell Mama where Christy Frye debuted her New York cabaret show, Christy Frye: Feels Like the First Time – Things I Learned From the Car Radio. Considering Frye is native of the Washington, D.C. area, and has been commuting weekly to New York for more than two years to study and participate in the New York cabaret scene, one might get the impression that Frye spends a good deal of her time in the car listening to the “oldies but goodies,” thereby supporting the first rule of cabaret performance--make the subject matter organic to the performer.

Continuing its 10th Anniversary Season, Bay Area Cabaret presents America's Romantic Piano Sensation, Jim Brickman in concert. Making his first San Francisco appearance in nearly ten years, Mr. Brickman will perform solo at 8pm, and with special guest Broadway tenor David Burnham at 5pm, Sunday, November 10, at the historic Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco, 950 Mason Street.
