BIO

Born in Twin Peaks and raised in Chicago, David began performing at a very young age as a church vocalist and pianist, playing classical and gospel music alike at age four. Today, his works as a composer, lyricist, artist and producer are ultimately about beauty, humor and truth. As a BMG Chrysalis songwriter and indie recording artist, David’s songs have appeared in a variety of TV and film, including the hit JJ Abrams and Matt Reevevs series Felicity as well as Smallville, MTV’s Real World and numerous others. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and songs from his last two albums “The Seraphim Circus” and “Retrograde Boulevard” have both charted at #1 nationally on CMJ and are available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all online outlets. David is a graduate of Wheaton College and Conservatory. He resides in Hollywood, CA where he is currently hard at work composing music and lyrics for several pop/rock musicals, most notably INVISIBLE (with bookwriter David Hollingsworth) which was this year’s first-prize winner in the prestigious NMI International Search for New Musicals. INVISIBLE was also a 2016 recipient of the NAMT National Fund with generous funding from The Alhadeff Charitable Foundation in consortium with 3-D Theatricals. 3-D Theatricals has been intimately involved with the development since 2015 and have said in recent Broadway World interviews they are working with an eye toward producing an INVISIBLE world premiere in their 2017-2018 season. Well's sci-fi classic The Invisible Man, as set through the lens of an 80's teen comedy (with an 80's-inspired original score, to match), INVISIBLE is the story of Griff and Kemper, two hopeless nerds, whose plans to woo the popular girls through science go awry when Griff accidentally turns himself invisible. With prom swiftly approaching, Griff, Kemper, and their goth friend Hemlock (who may or may not have a crush on Griff) must find a way to make him visible again, all while avoiding snobby cliques, busybody teachers, and the school's resident rich kid jock, Chetwick.
