Inspired Collaborations Celebrate Iconic Pop Artist in Exclusive Exhibition THE LOST WARHOLS
In 1982 aspiring photographer Karen Bystedt had a brilliant idea: to ask Andy Warhol if he would pose for a book-in-progress about the era's top male models. The tenacious NYU film student cold-called Warhol– already a renowned artist - at Interview Magazine which he founded and, to her surprise she says, he agreed to sit for a rare portrait session. The resulting photographs are legendary, and Warhol was the book's pièce de résistance.
GLWD Delivers 'Sandy Bags' and More to New Yorkers in Need
Despite having no power at agency headquarters in SoHo in the days following Hurricane Sandy, God's Love We Deliver worked tirelessly to ensure that as many people affected by the storm as possible had access to nutritious food. Staff and volunteers walked and biked across bridges and across town to reach the agency's darkened building and put together emergency food kits, dubbed "Sandy bags" for their clients. The phones at God's Love were down, but dedicated volunteers came knocking, offering to help. Despite the storm, God's Love was able to deliver 8,000 meals and 2,300 "Sandy Bags" to all five boroughs this past week.

Last week, as BroadwayWorld previously reported, members of Broadway Bares, Tom Viola (Broadway Cares /Equity Fights AIDS), David Ludwigson (God's Love We Deliver), and The Imperial Court of New York's Emperor XVIII Tony Monteleone & Empress XXIII Anne Tique assembled at Times Square's Red Stairs yesterday in anticipation of the extravagant charity event - the 24th Annual Night of a Thousand Gowns.
