David Lee White is the Associate Artistic Director of Passage Theatre Company in Trenton. His play Blood: A Comedy was developed at Passage Theatre and Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Member Fest. It subsequently premiered at Passage Theatre in 2009 and was produced by Dreamcatcher Rep in 2011. His play Slippery as Sin premiered at Passage in May of 2012. His play White Baby was produced by Emerging Artists Theatre in NY in 2010. Other produced one-acts include Backfire and The Ask. David’s play for teens, If I Could, In My Hood, I Would..., has been produced several times in Trenton and Newark and has been produced for the past six years at the South Carolina Children's Theatre. David also created with June Ballinger the oral history based play Trenton Lights and is currently working on a follow-up about race and identity in the city of Trenton. He is currently working on a new play for Dreamcatcher Rep entitled Real True Crime as well as a musical with singer/songwriter Sarah Donner entitled Live Stream. His collection Random Horrible Thoughts About Love recently received a staged reading at Buzzworks Theatre in Los Angeles. David is the author of the novel Fantomas in America, published by Black Coat Press. He is also a founding member of the Passage Theatre Play Lab, which develops, workshops and showcases work by NJ area playwrights.
