BIO
DAVID KAPLINSKY is an actor in Chicago, who is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. He received his actor training and his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, studying also at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London in Summer 2012. David made his professional theatre debut in summer 2013 at the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival in Omaha, NE as Antonio in Twelfth Night and Quintus in Titus Andronicus.
His Chicago credits include "A Nightmare on Backstreet: A Boy-Band Musical Parody" at The Public House Theatre, "El Stories: New In Town" at Greenhouse Theater Center,
"It's A Wonderful Santa Land Miracle Nut Cracking Christmas Story... Jews Welcome" at Stage 773.
He will be seen in January-February in "Princess Mary Demands Your Attention" with Bailiwick Chicago, playing at Victory Gardens Theatre. This past summer he toured the Midwest in Traveling Lantern Theatre Company's production of The Industrious Mr. Franklin. Other recent credits include directing and appearing in The Yiddish Hour: A Radio Play at the Shadowbox theatre and in Gayland: The Musical, a world-premiere sexual-equality musical at the New Orleans Fringe Festival. At the University of Illinois, he played Melchior Gabor in the musical Spring Awakening, as well as parts Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream--It's a Bacchanal, Battle of Angels, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Our Town, and Dracula.
