John Patitucci Teams Up with Daedalus Quartet in Philadelphia

LiveConnections continues their exciting season of string innovations on Tuesday, April 18 when legendary bassist John Patitucci teams up with the acclaimed Daedalus Quartet, currently in-residence at the University of Pennsylvania, for a one-night concert that will cross a wide variety of genres. Commissioned by LiveConnections, Patitucci will be writing new music for string quintet (the Quartet plus himself), as part of a program fusing jazz and classical styles. The 7:30PM show will take place at Philadelphia's World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut Street).
Carlos Simon Wins $15,000 Commission from American Composers Orchestra

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) has awarded composer Carlos Simon its 2016 Underwood Commission, bringing him a $15,000 purse for a work to be premiered by ACO on May 23, 2017 at Symphony Space in New York City.
