DAVID GOLDSMITH is a playwright, bookwriter, lyricist, composer and “script doctor.” He is currently represented at the National Theatre of Israel in Tel Aviv with book & lyrics for Masada 1942 (Shuki Levy, music, Moshe Kepten, dir). BROADWAY: Motown The Musical (“script consultant,” book & lyrics), also London’s West End (Shaftesbury Theatre), two US National tours, and a UK tour. WEST END: book & lyrics for Imagine This (New London Theatre and Theatre Royal Plymouth, a filmed production of which aired on PBS and is part of the ShopPBS catalogue, as well as a 2017 revival at the Union Theatre off-West End.) OFF-BROADWAY: Invisible Thread (Story Consultant), 2nd Stage Theatre, Diane Paulus, dir. LOS ANGELES: Having It All (book/lyrics; Ovation nominee, Best Musical, Best Book; also Laguna Playhouse). David is currently the author/conceiver of the multimedia retrospective Thirty Years of Stephen (The Music Of Stephen Flaherty), to premiere this fall at their mutual alma mater, the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, directed by Marcia Milgrom-Dodge. David lives in Manhattan with his wife, Broadway’s Bryonha Marie.
