Agression were on the front lines as they fused the union between skateboarding and punk rock cultures.

Considered to be the 1st Straight Edge branded band, SSD formed in Boston in 1981. The band gained notoriety within the local music scene for their performances and the provocative antics of their group of followers, the Boston Crew. The original lineup was Al Barile on guitar, Springa on vocals, Jaime Sciarappa on bass and Chris Foley on drums.

Resonance Works Celebrates Leonard Bernstein With ON THE TOWN
RESONANCE WORKS opens its sixth season celebrating the centennial of Leonard Bernstein with On the Town in concert on Friday, October 19, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, October 21, at 3 p.m. Performances will be held at the New Hazlett Theater, renewing the company's engagement with the North Side community. Members of The Brass Roots join forces with the Resonance Chamber Orchestra. Resonance Works Founder and Artistic Director Maria Sensi Sellner conducts.
Utah Opera Hosts MUSIC AND THE MIND Presented By Renée Fleming With Dr. Norman Foster
On September 11th at 4 PM, Utah Opera in partnership with the University of Utah School of Music hosts world-renowned soprano Renee Fleming at Libby Gardner Hall in an eye-opening free lecture exploring the connections between music, health, and the brain. "Music & The Mind" is an hour-long multimedia presentation with Renee Fleming and Norman L. Foster, M.D., Professor of Neurology and Senior Investigator of The Brain Institute at the University of Utah and Director of the Center for Alzheimer's Care, Imaging and Research. Tickets are not required but seating is limited and first come first served - doors open at 3:30 pm.

Lightning in a Bottle (LIB) has announced the lineups for the Landing and Haven areas, both part of LIB's new educational hub debuting this year, The Compass, designed to empower and engage individuals. The roster of speakers and presenters will treat festivalgoers to immersive workshops surrounding grassroots political activism, social justice, climate change and indigenous land rights, digital activism, identifying truth in journalism and social media, decolonization, art activism, and more.
