The Bushnell's 2015-2016 Broadway Series Season to Feature NEWSIES, LOVE LETTERS & More
In a sure sign spring is near, The Bushnell announced today its 2015-2016 Broadway Series season. Beginning this fall, The Bushnell will bring seven popular titles to Hartford as part of the Series, along with an additional off-Series family favorite to round out a strong season lineup. Series titles are THE ILLUSIONISTS, a mind-blowing showcase of magic and illusion; family friendly smash hits Disney's NEWSIES and Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA; LOVE LETTERS, starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal; and crowd-pleasing sensations MOTOWN THE MUSICAL and DIRTY DANCING. The seventh title, a current Broadway hit, will be announced in May. The 2015-2016 Bushnell Broadway Series is co-sponsored by Farmington Bank and Travelers.

Series titles are Broadway classics EVITA, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and CAMELOT, last year's Tony-winning Best Musical Revival, PIPPIN, Gershwin tuner NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, and back-to-back Tony Award-winning Best Musicals ONCE and KINKY BOOTS. The phenomenal crowd-pleaser WICKED was also announced to return to Hartford for three weeks in November as a special off-subscription offering.
The Bushnell to Finance Energy-Saving Upgrades Through Innovative C-PACE Program
Bushnell President and CEO David Fay announced today that The Bushnell will finance the long-needed replacement of its aging boiler through the state's innovative Commercial & Industrial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program. The not-for-profit institution will recognize significant savings, both financially and in energy consumption, by making this capital improvement using C-PACE financing. The Bushnell is the first business in Hartford to take advantage of this novel state program.
Mike Fresher to Leave The Bushnell for San Antonio's Tobin Center
David Fay, President and CEO of The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts announced today that Mike Fresher will be leaving his position as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at The Bushnell to become President and CEO of The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, TX. Fresher, who also served as General Manager of Bushnell Management Services, will leave The Bushnell on May 10; he begins his new position May 21.
Stefanie Powers to Replace Valerie Harper in National Tour of LOOPED
Emmy Award nominee Stefanie Powers will now play the role of legendary actress Tallulah Bankhead on the national tour of LOOPED. She replaces Valerie Harper, who was advised by doctors to take an immediate medical leave after having recently been hospitalized; she has flown back to Los Angeles with her husband Tony Cacciotti where she will receive continuing treatment and medical care.
LOOPED Moves Bushnell Opening to 5/7
Four-time Emmy Award Winner & Tony Award Nominee Valerie Harper was hospitalized last week, interrupting rehearsals for the national tour of LOOPED. She is currently being treated in Manhattan and is expected to make a full recovery within weeks.
