SUCCESSION Actor Brian Cox Signs Petition to Save Historic Theatre
Brian Cox, known for his role in the hit series Succession, has backed a new petition to save The Old Rep, a historic theatre in Birmingham. Located on Station Street, the theatre opened in 1913 and according to Cox 'Some of the finest actors in the UK have travelled through the place.' These actors include such people as Albert Finney, Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson.
Casts Announced For THE BOOK OF MORMON in the West End and on Tour
The Book of Mormon, the smash-hit musical written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez, resumes its UK and European Tour at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on 12 October 2021, and will return to the Prince of Wales Theatre in London to continue its seven year sold out run from 15 November 2021.
BWW Review: Fantastic.Z's Short Play Series FAMILY Modern and Sweet
Keeping it brief, since the show only runs through this Saturday, LGBTQ theater group Fantastic.Z has a series of short plays currently performing at The Eclectic Theater called 'Family'. The six-play series has a family motif, each story showcasing modern examples of what it means to be a unit in the modern era. In a more deductive sense, this new works micro-festival highlights specifically pain within the family unit. Half of the shows work through that pain less successfully with staged therapy (moping, finger-pointing, and yelling), and the other half of the show work through that pain more successfully with comedy.

Intersection for the Arts and California Shakespeare Present CALIFAS FESTIVAL thru 11/17
Intersection for the Arts and the California Shakespeare Theater come together this fall to co-produce the Califas Festival, a six week-long immersive, story-filled play yard of music, visual art, performance, and more in the area in and around Intersection's headquarters. The Festival is the culminating event of the Califas Project, a year of multimedia creative exploration in communities around the state including productions of Richard Montoya's The River at Campo Santo this past March, and American Night at Cal Shakes in June.
Fiona Shaw to Bring THE TESTAMENT OF MARY to Barbican in May; Full 2014 Line-Up Announced
The Barbican today announced a stellar program of events for spring and summer 2014, pushing the boundaries of all major art forms for its diverse audiences. This new program builds on the most successful year ever for the Barbican, with attendances for events at the Centre exceeding 1 million for the first time, an increase of 36% on 2011/12. In this Olympics year, box office receipts also rose 33%, and the Barbican's commercial income increased by 35%.
