Pasadena Playhouse Extends A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC
Pasadena Playhouse presents its 50th anniversary production of A Little Night Music which will extend through Sunday, May 28. Performances will begin April 25 and press opening is April 30.

Now, imagine taking that story and turning it into a musical. Well, that is exactly what Charissa Bertels did – with the help of some friends – when she created My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend- playing June 16 – July 3, 2022 in the Loft Theatre.

Next up at The Wallis, a radical reinvention of Shakespeare’s King Lear, starring Joe Morton in the titular role opens May 14, 2022 (with previews beginning May 10th). John Gould Rubin directs the cast which also includes Mark Harelik, River Gallo, Zach Solomon, Brie Eley, Emily Swallow, Rafael Jordan, Miguel Perez, Stanley Jackson, and Danielle Thorpe. John was most gracious to carve out some time of his full creative schedule to answer a few of my queries.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents a radical reinvention of Shakespeare's KING LEAR, starring Emmy Award and NAACP Image Award winner Joe Morton (ABC's “Scandal,” the legendary Brother from Another Planet, Netflix's “The Politician,” Justice League) and directed by John Gould Rubin, opening Saturday, May 14 and running through Sunday, June 5, 2022, with previews May 10 through 13, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater.
