Danielle Koenig is an award-winning writer and actor based in NYC and LA. They
are a graduate of NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and an alumnus of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. Their work has been performed at Lincoln Center, 54 Below, and the Duplex Theatre. They have been commissioned by The Brooklyn Children’s Theater. Their musical, The Myth of the Mountain, with music by Justin D. Cook, has had developmental readings at NYU and UCLA, and will go to Syracuse University to participate in their ‘New Works, New Voices’ this Winter. Their 20-minute musical, Stuck, with music by Julio Vaquero, premiered Off-Off Broadway at the Chain Theatre, winning the Audience Choice Award and extending its nearly sold-out run. Their original musical Wake, with music and lyrics by Sammy Grob and Asher Muldoon, played to sold out audiences at the Emerging Artists Theater. Their original musical, Camp Song, debuted in Fall of 2019 on UCLATheater’s Mainstage and was selected as a finalist for the New York Musical Festival. Their original pilot, Soccer Moms, won ‘Best Graduate Pilot’ at the Fusion Film Festival and was a semifinalist for the Humanitas’ David and Lynn Angell Comedy Award and the Austin Film Festival Comedy Teleplay Screenplay Competition. After winning Playdate Theatre Company’s Holiday Special, their song My Half Brother, The Saint was professionally recorded by TikTok star JJ Niemann for Spotify release. They have extensive improv
and sketch training, having written comedy videos that have been viewed over 1.5 million times on Youtube, and participated in a prestigious Writer's Room Internship at Saturday Night Live. Recent acting projects include a workshop of Carmel Dean and Mindi Dickstein's 'Maiden Voyage' through New Works Provincetown, Minoru (The Tank), Too Much Lesbian Drama, One Star (Playwright's Horizons), Starsong (The Chain Theatre), Charlotte Lucas is 27 And Not Dead (Piper Theater), Parx (Live Source Theatre Group), and Alice Formerly of Wonderland (Whitefire Theatre).
