NEWSIES Comes to Millbrook Playhouse
On July 12 Millbrook Playhouse presents the Tony Award-winning Broadway phenomenon, Newsies: The Musical.
Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is a rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a "heroically, charismatic, plainspoken, know nothing, skirt chasing" newsboy and leader of a band of teen aged "newsies." When the titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
Len Cariou & Liz Robertson, Original Stars, Reunite in DANCE A LITTLE CLOSER Concert
Len Cariou and Liz Robertson, stars of the original Broadway production of Dance A Little Closer, the Charles Strouse and Alan Jay Lerner musical, have joined the cast of its previously announced concert adaptation, on Monday, April 16 at 7 pm at the Green Room 42. Presented in honor of composer Charles Strouse's 90th birthday by the Second Act Series, the stars will perform two songs they originated in the legendary, infamous and short-lived Broadway production. The abridged concert will also include never-before-heard songs cut during the show's workshop period.
THE BOOK OF MORMON's Arbender Robinson Joins DANCE A LITTLE CLOSER In Concert At The Green Room 42
As previously announced, the acclaimed Second Act Series, which has presented an array of lesser-known musicals in concert, will celebrate the short-lived Charles Strouse and Alan Jay Lerner musical Dance A Little Closer at New York's Green Room 42 on Monday, April 16th at 7:00pm. The one-night-only concert reading will star Beautiful's Julia Knitel (Bye, Bye, Birdie), currently starring in A Letter to Harvey Milk as Cynthia Drama Desk Award-winner Ed Dixon (Georgie, Sunday In The Park With George, Les Miserables) in the role created by his lifelong friend and colleague George Rose. Joining them as Bebe is Cheryl Howard, returning to the role she originated in the original 1983 production, and Arbender Robinson (The Book of Mormon, Shuffle Along, In Transit) as Charles, the role originated by Brent Barrett.

Sharon Playhouse Sets Star-Studded Casts for 2017 Summer Season
Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.

As previously announced, Tony Award-winners Barry Bostwick and Joanna Gleason will reunite and revisit Nick and Nora in a one-night-only concert presented by FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, on May 2nd, 2017. Feinstein's now announces that Allegiance star Marcus Choi (Wicked, Sweet Charity and more) will join the company as Yukido (replacing original star Thom Sesma who continues his run in Pacific Overtures at Classic Stage Company) with Daniel Walstad as Max Bernheim.
Tony Winner Cady Huffman Joins NICK AND NORA Concert at Feinstein's/54 Below
As previously announced, Tony Award-winners Barry Bostwick and Joanna Gleason will revisit Nick and Nora in a reunion concert presented by FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, on May 2nd, 2017. Feinstein's now proudly announces that the show's original stars will be joined by special guest Cady Huffman (Tony Award-winner, The Producers, The Nance, Will Rogers' Follies) as Tracy Gardner. Huffman will step into the role originated by Christine Baranski. Also joining the ensemble is Carly Sakolove (Newsical, Mammia Mia! National Tour), who will step into the role of Lorraine Bixby, originated by Faith Prince.
