A diverse collective of L.A.-based theater artists dedicated to true equity has released “The Los Angeles Anti-Racist Theater Standards” as a way to create lasting, systemic change within L.A. theater institutions. The full set of standards, which were emailed to 130 local theater companies on Sept. 8.

Artists throughout the state of California are uniting for the passage of Senate Bill 805 (SB 805), titled, “The Performing Arts Relief Act,” which the Senate Labor Committee will vote on Wednesday, April 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Sacramento, CA. A Coalition of 36 small 99-seat non-profit theaters and freelance performers are banding together to make theater accessible to all.

Jon Prescott's MOVERS & SHAKERS Set For Hollywood Fringe Festival
Writer/performer Jon Prescott is set to bring the world premiere of his solo show Movers & Shakers to the Hollywood Fringe Festival, it was announced today by Brimmer Street Theatre Company. Directed by Annie McVey, it will run for three performances only at the Broadwater Blackbox beginning June 7 at 5pm.

Jennie Webb's CURRENCY to Open 4/15 at The Inkwell Theater
The Inkwell Theater proudly announces the world premiere production of Los Angeles-based playwright Jennie Webb's latest comedy Currency. Directed by Annie McVey, Currency will open on Friday, April 15, 2016 and run for six weeks until it closes on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Performances will be held Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm through its six-week run as a guest production at VS. Theatre at 5453 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90019.

Emmy Award winner and Executive Director, Elliot Shoenman, and his son Artistic Director, Daniel Shoenman, founded the Inkwell Theater ten years ago, subsequently establishing national critical acclaim for the company with such productions as the Ovation Award nominated AfterMath, starring Annie Potts. On July 18th they will launch Louise Munson's (Liam Rector Scholar in Fiction) play Luigi, offering Los Angeles audiences a first look at her work when this World Premiere opens at the VS Theatre.

Elliot's work, the Ovation Award nominated AfterMath, starring Annie Potts, played to sold-out houses at the Odyssey last season, launched by the Inkwell Theater.
