Some, like Mexico's Paola Espinosa and Mariana Pajón of Colombia, are past medal winners, while others are seeking Olympic glory for the first time, including the Brazilian soccer team, which won a silver medal at the London 2012 games and is eager to win the gold at home. The stories and performances of these and other athletes will be at the heart of the Olympic coverage on TELEMUNDO and NBC DEPORTES, which begins on August 3 with the start of the soccer competition two days before the opening ceremony.

TELEMUNDO and NBC UNIVERSO, the home of the Olympics in Spanish in the United States, presented their broadcast plans for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games with more than 200 hours of coverage on TELEMUNDO and NBC UNIVERSO, the most extensive Olympic coverage in the history of US Spanish-language television. Just last month, Olympian Danell Leyva visited Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, where he met with leading man Reeve Carney and the 9 Spider-Men from the show. Now according to the New York Post, he is in talks to join the production. An insider told NYP that 'the producers are excited about the idea of Danell joining the show.'
