Theatrical press rep extraordinaire Sam Rudy recently announced his retirement from the Broadway scene.
Rudy began his Broadway career as a press assistant for the 1979 play Strider. Since then, his Sam Rudy Media Relations has represented thirteen Broadway shows and many more off-Broadway productions, including Avenue Q and Hamilton.
Some of Rudy's Broadway friends got together to toast his retirement and BroadwayWorld is taking you inside the very special event below!

MONKEY: JOURNEY TO THE WEST, an extraordinary music-theater collaboration based on the classic Chinese folktale "Journey to the West" from 1592, will open the 2013 Lincoln Center Festival, playing 27 performances throughout the festival from July 6 - 28 in the David H. Koch Theater. MONKEY: JOURNEY TO THE WEST is conceived and directed by internationally renowned opera and film director Chen Shi-Zheng, with music by Damon Albarn, lead singer of Blur, and design and animation by award-winning artistJamie Hewlett, who, with Albarn, created the virtual band Gorillaz.

Since the announcement that the hit Kennedy Center-originated production of FOLLIES would be heading to LA after its Broadway closing, speculation has been running rampant about which cast members would transfer with the production. In a new interview with CBS2 New York, FOLLIES star Ron Raines tells host Dana Tyler that 'pretty much' everybody will be transferring to Los Angeles, noting that there's 'a lot of puzzle pieces.'
